Parallel Evolutions — The Deva Kingdom Devas & Elementals The Builders of Form, Guardian Angels & the Coming Co-operation Between Evolutions
Devas and elementals constitute a separate evolution from that of the human being — yet all evolutions are intimately integrated, together composing the body of the Planetary Logos. Each of these vast systems is independently controlled by Hierarchies functioning on parallel levels. The esoteric student need not make a deep study of these other fields, but should at minimum be aware of these related evolutions and carry a general understanding of how they intersect with and affect the human system.
Elementals are etheric forms of being occurring on all planes, traditionally known as gnomes, brownies, pixies, and related beings. They are the primordial phase of all creation across both our Solar System and the wider Universe. Within certain limits, these elemental forces may be controlled or guided — but the uninformed are clearly warned: meddling with these matters without thorough understanding is definitely undesirable. The correct approach for the disciple is not direct control, but co-operation through their senior ranks.
Devas of every status exist, grading from ranks comparable to that of a Planetary Logos, through many intermediate hierarchical levels, down to the lesser building devas who work unconsciously and automatically in large groups, constructing the many forms of the material world. The lower groups are guided purely by vibration and sound. The higher ranks bring intelligence, purpose, and executive direction to the entire building process.
On the physical plane, the human being is in daily and constant contact with the deva world — mostly without awareness. All matter, and every physical form whether mineral, vegetable, animal, or human, is constituted of the vital substance of lesser deva entities, held together by a higher-ranking deva providing the coherence of that form. Every crystal, drop of water, and every plant or animal has its own controlling deva-life. This is not metaphor: it is the structural reality of the material world from the esoteric perspective.
The aspirant should recognize that it is not only his physical body which consists of deva life, but also his etheric and emotional bodies, and that even thoughts are nothing but deva substance. It is for this reason that the average man, still functioning on emotional levels, remains largely under the control of astral devas, and his objective must therefore be to liberate himself as soon as possible from these influences, allowing the soul to dominate his life and the Spirit to become his guide.
Aart Jurriaanse — BridgesThe Dark Forces have also acquired the technique of handling elemental and involutionary forces, perverting these unwitting lesser forms of life to selfish and destructive ends. For the disciple, the correct procedure — as practised by the Masters — is not direct control over elementals and lower-grade devas, but co-operation effected through their senior ranks: the Deva Lords and Angels. It is not for man to control the deva world, but to collaborate with it through intelligent and loving understanding of its functions.
Adepts have been taught the art of calling specific devas or elementals to serve their purpose through the use of mantrams — words or syllables arranged in rhythmic order which, when sounded, generate vibrations that serve as a call-note for the required deva or elemental. Such powers are accorded to the disciple when he is ready for their use and when his work demands it. Danger is definitively provoked when lesser devas and forces are called by the unqualified in attempts to further selfish ambitions.
As man is the custodian of the mental principle, so the deva evolution is the custodian of the life principle — and therefore of magnetism and vitality, those qualities that play such an important role in the three worlds of human manifestation. Neither evolution can develop effectively without the support of the other. As far as form is concerned they are indispensable partners. However, the disciple must simultaneously orient himself increasingly toward spiritual relationships, striving to evolve away from dependence on form and matter.
A group of entities has been gathered from the most advanced deva ranks who serve as guardian angels over the human race. Each human being has been furnished with a specific guardian angel whose function is to remain night and day, warding off unfavorable energies that might menace the physical well-being of their charge. These guardian angels must not be confused with the spiritual helpers who on etheric levels stand by the disciple providing spiritual support when needed and invoked — these are two distinct forms of deva service.
On hierarchical levels, at least four groups of advanced Deva Angels are assembled around the Christ, pledged to his service and that of humanity. The Christ has charged them with making humanity aware of specific realities that currently appear far-fetched but are approaching manifestation:
These developments may seem fantastic to the ordinary mind — but consider how impossible television, computers, nuclear power, and spacecraft would have sounded to someone living just a century ago. The spreading influence of the Deva Angels is already permeating human life: increasing psychic awareness, science accepting aspects of extra-sensory perception, and at last the ascertaining of at least certain aspects of the etheric world. The fulfillment of these prophecies is not a distant possibility but an approaching reality.
